Potential investee companies must meet some or all of the following criteria: 

• The project must fit the Investment Strategy of the fund
• The company or business must be located in or a substantial portion of its business must be located in our geographical coverage area.
• The company or business must be in the private sector or substantially owned and managed privately.
• The project must be profitable and/or have good prospects for sustainable profitability.
• The project or company must provide benefit to the local economy ( in the form of employment generation, contribution to tax revenues, export revenue, poverty alleviation, infrastructural development and transfer of technology and know-how)
• The company or business must have a committed promoter or sponsor and sound management or be able to demonstrate that it can put a competent management team in place.
• The project must comply with or demonstrate commitment to comply with the highest standards of social and environmental management and must meet all legal, regulatory requirements and certifications applicable from time to time.
